Contrasting images

Hey! For my first piece of homework i'm going to show you 4 contrasting images.

This is the first one. Taken by a girl called Kayla Palmer ( i found this on instagram)  this is one of my fave pics to date. It means a lot to me.Half of her face is her own and half a cheetah. It shows that although we may not look like it we have that real fierceness about us. Women are not to be underestimated. I chose this picture because it really takes me back to how many years ago us women were not even supposed to leave the house. It is a black and white picture which i think helps you not to be distracted from the real meaning behind it so you are not distracted by colors, she also isn't smiling in the picture which helps you focus more on the meaning. Although she doesn't mention all of this in the caption on the picture just seeing this makes me think it. That is why i love it! It makes me feel proud to be female and that we too can do things men think not so long ago we couldn't.I'm not sure whether its just me and that only i get so many thought from this one picture or everyone does!
This is the one picture i didn't find for this homework-i already knew about it.

This is another example of a contrasting picture. It is a picture of a clear blue sky with ice sickles coming in from the top. At first when i saw this i thought nothing of it, looking back at it it struck me as odd. Why would you have ice sickles when there is a clear sky? That is why it is an example of a contrasting picture.I chose this picture because it does make you do a 'double take' in a way. Or maybe that was just me. Who knows? Point is is that although i don't get a deep message like the other picture i still think it deserves to be spoken about because its an amazing example of a contrasting image. Summer and winter in one picture.

This is another one.In this picture you see all the same purple/blue flowers. But in the back you see one sole sunflower. I really like this one too. The sunflower is all alone but is still growing. It makes me think that i don't have to be like others to be okay. Although to me its not my fav picture of the moment i still do think its great. I chose this because its unlike any other i have seen before. Its unique, one of the main things i like pictures to be. If all pictures were the same they would not be interesting. Sunflowers to me are very appealing. I just love them.

For the last picture i have chosen this. It is a close up of a red flower. Similar to the last photo it is on its own where the other plants in the picture are green. Just on its left you can see 2 more flower buds that haven't come out yet. This has a meaning to me. That its okay to do things first and i shouldn't look for others approval to do something. It also reminds me of a saying i constantly remind my self. I am born alone and i die alone. So why worry what others say or think. Its also great to look at, the photographer has though carefully. Green and red are contrasting colors which add even more depth to the picture. That is why i chose this picture. It,like the first picture, has deep meaning to me. Again this could be just me.You could just look at this and see a flower, but i see all these things at once. The camera has focused on the flower and the few green plants next to it. The rest is a blur. This adds even more focus to the flower.

So that's it. I hope you have enjoyed reading my very first blog post. I really enjoyed making it,even if it was a bit tricky at first. Its not always easy for me to put the many thoughts i have on a page. My mum always says that i have so many thoughts going on in my head i hardly say them in the right order. I hope it wasn't too long/boring. That's another thing i struggle with. But hopefully you got a chance to see what goes on in my mind when i see these. Thank you.
